February 6th – In continuing our project exploring the effects of the 2010 BP oil spill, we recently sat down with Marco Kaltofen for a third interview. Kaltofen was one of the first independent researchers to sample and study the Gulf in wake of the spill; his company, Boston Chemical Data, took over 800 marine life, air, water, and ground samples across each of the five affected states. Even a year and a half after the spill was capped, the Gulf region is still feeling the impact as the havoc wreaked by oil and dispersant is still playing out.
