
November 6th – 10:42AM(CST) – These photos are from our recent trip to Horn Island, off the coast of Mississippi. In the top image, you can see the black stain across the length of the beach. Here, the constant push and pull of the tide (with assistance from Corexit 9500) has slowly worked the oil into fine droplets. Below, a 4 to 5″ wide tar ball lay on the beach, about 20 yards from the shore. As far back as 40 or 50 yards, these oil patties dotted the bright sand.
